About Me
I’m a Christian, husband, father, woodworker, filmmaker, and board gamer. In that order.
Hi, I’m Cameron
I started my woodworking journey while renovating a home in North Raleigh, NC, in 2019 converting the victorian-style trim of the home to bold craftsman style moldings and trim. My passion for creative problem-solving led me through a career in software engineering to woodworking as a hobby, which eventually became the vision for Sturdy Bones Woodworking.
My wife Kacey and I relocated to our 134-year-old home in Durham, NC in 2021 where we hope to build our life, raise our kids, and create many beautiful pieces of furniture and captivating films. My sturdy old barn which houses my shop is framed with rough-sawn dimensional lumber and old fashioned framing techniques, which inspired the name of my company.
I launched my YouTube Channel in 2023 with five videos and was astonished to reach the 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch-hours requirements for monetization in a single week. After posting 13 videos, the channel has grown to over 10,000 subscribers and pulled in over 600,000 views in its lifetime. In 2025, my business shifted more toward delivering high quality woodworking content than manufacturing furniture. However, creating unique pieces of furniture is still my passion, and I continue to take on commissions when the project aligns with my interest and availability - so feel free to inquire about your piece.

My Shop
Like many wood shops, mine is a work in progress. The roughly 900 square foot space is an old barn that previous owners converted to a garage / workshop. My vision is to eventually utilize every inch of it for the purpose of running an efficient creative space to craft unique handmade furniture pieces and woodworking videos.
